Departing Melbourne winger Marika Koroibete has been slugged with a grade one high tackle for his shot on Chad Townsend in their NRL grand final defeat to Cronulla.
The charge on Monday is moot given Koroibete is headed to rugby union. No other players were pinged by the match review committee in Sunday's grand final.
The NRL has the option of requesting the ARU to punish the Melbourne Rebels-bound star however an early guilty plea would have allowed Koroibete to escape suspension.
