Deportation, free tampons in Vic election

With nine days until the Victorian election, voters have been promised free tampons in schools and the deportation of foreign criminals by the major parties.

* Matthew Guy: Melbourne CBD (Melbourne) and Caulfield (Caulfield), cancelled appearance in Hawthorn (Hawthorn)

WHAT THEY SAID

* "For those repeat violent offenders who continue to do the wrong thing and break the law and hurt people in our state we believe that deportation is essential." - Liberal Leader Matthew Guy on banishing foreign criminals

WHAT THEY PROMISED

* Labor

- $100 million for regional hospitals, including $3.9 million for refurbishment of the pathology and radiology departments at Ararat Hospital

- Free pads and tampons at all state schools

* Liberal-Nationals

- Establishment of a unit within the Department of Justice to work on deporting violent foreign repeat offenders.
