Film star Johnny Depp's wife has once again left it to her lawyers after a quarantine breach case against her was mentioned in a Queensland court.

Amber Heard was a no-show on Monday as her matter was adjourned until November 16 at Southport Magistrates Court.

The superstar couple made international headlines earlier this year when they allegedly breached Australia's biosecurity laws.

Their terriers Boo and Pistol became worldwide sensations when Heard and Depp allegedly brought the pampered pooches to the Gold Coast without declaring them to quarantine.

The incident prompted Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce to say it was time both dogs "buggered off" back to the US, imposing a 48-hour deadline for the canines to be flown out of Australia.

Heard has yet to return to the country to face court despite a summons to appear.

On Monday her lawyer Paula Morreau sought a two-week adjournment to hold "further discussions" with prosecutors.

Heard faces possible penalties of up to 10 years' imprisonment and fines of up to $100,000 for the alleged offences.
