Dick Smith creditors meet brought forward

The second meeting of Dick Smith creditors, which had been due in early August, is now likely to be held in early June.

The next Dick Smith creditors' meeting is set to be held two months earlier than expected following the announcement that the stricken electrical retailer is set to close.

Administrator McGrathNicol said on Friday the second meeting of creditors, which had been due in early August, is now likely to be held in early June.

The first meeting of creditors in January outlined the rough composition of Dick Smith's $400 million debts and appointed a committee of creditors.

Dick Smith's Australian and New Zealand stores are to close within eight weeks after the receiver said on Thursday it had failed to find a buyer for all or part of the business.
