Is the 'The Snow and Ice Dance', one of the 10 official 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics songs, similar to 'Let it go', from Disney's blockbuster Frozen? Some Chinese internet users seem to think so.
The composer of the anthem, Zhao Zhao, is facing widespread criticism over the claims.
The official YouTube video for the Chinese song has attracted hundreds of mocking comparisons.
“Have you no shame?” read one message posted on the composer’s account on Weibo, China’s Twitter. “Can you stop plagiarising?” wrote another.
The allegations of plagiarism emerged in the Chinese business magazine Caijing. The report included a chart showing that the two songs share almost the same tune, length, tempo and instrument arrangement.
“Some notes are almost the same as the opening line of 'Let it Go' and the only difference is the tempo,” according to one critic in the Caijing article.
Neither the Beijing Winter Olympics committee or Disney officials have commented on the allegations.
