De Niro made his directorial debut with 1993's A Bronx Tale and he stepped behind the camera again to take charge of 2006 thrilled The Good Shepherd.
However, the star admits working as a director is much harder than acting, telling the New York Post: "I don't know if I will ever do another movie. If I did five in my life, I would be happy. I might not do three ... It's a lot of work ... very tough, especially if you care about doing it ... It's always about money, about budget. You always have to be fighting them (studio bosses) every second."
