Hip-hop star DJ E-Z Rock, aka Rodney 'Skip' Boyce has died at the age of 46, according to a Facebook post from longtime partner MC Rob Base.
Rock died on Sunday and no cause of death was revealed, according to MTV.com.
Rock, born Rodney Bryce, was best known for his 1988 dance hit It Takes Two.
Snoop Dogg later sampled the track as did Gang Starr. Others to sample the track include Mac Miller (Play Ya Cards) and the Black Eyed Peas (Rock That Body).
Tributes from the hip-hop community have been posted on Twitter since news of Rock's death broke.
Biz Markie tweeted, "R.I.P. to EZ Rock from Rob Base and EZ Rock you will truly be missed," he said.
"R.I.P Dj Ez Rock," Funk Flex tweeted.
"We Have Lost Our Very Own From Harlem NYC & The Hip-Hop Culture Our Brother DJ E-Z Rock. Rest In Peace," DJ Red Alert said.
