DNA testing has reportedly supported a man's belief that he is the biological son of the late pop singer Michael Jackson.

The US website FilmOn.com reports that DNA testing, carried out by laboratories in Utah and Ireland, said there was a 99.9 per cent chance the man is Jackson's son.

Brandon Howard, 31 (who has now shortened his name to B. Howard) says in a video posted on TMZ.com that he had agreed to a DNA test - but adds "it had nothing to do with any of this".

According to TMZ, Howard's mother is Miki Howard, a gospel singer who once went under the name "Billy" and who knew Jackson.

In 1983 Jackson put out the song Billie Jean, which included the lyrics, "Billie Jean's not my lover" and "The kid is not my son."

Jackson died in June 2009, at the age of 50.
