Docker de Boer says no to AFL rest

Fremantle have the chance to rest key players in the final three rounds of the season, but Matt de Boer doesn't want to be one of them.

Docker de Boer says no to AFL rest

Fremantle's Matt de Boer says there's no way he'll volunteer to be rested ahead of the AFL finals.

Fremantle forward Matt de Boer says there's no way he'll be putting his hand up for a rest in the lead-in to the AFL finals.

The fourth-placed Dockers will start hot favourites against Melbourne (MCG), Port Adelaide (Patersons) and St Kilda (Etihad) in their final three games, with the soft run home giving them the perfect chance to rest key players.

De Boer is one of six Dockers who have featured in every game this season.

But the 23-year-old made it perfectly clear on Wednesday that he wasn't keen for a rest.

"No, not at all," de Boer said.

"I mean, who wouldn't want to be in this team right now?

"I won't be giving up my spot very easily.

"There's obviously boys knocking on the door, and that competition is really healthy for spots. I won't be giving up mine easily at all."

The Dockers are set to welcome back midfielder Stephen Hill and defender Garrick Ibbotson for Sunday's clash with Melbourne.

Midfielder Clancee Pearce could return next week, but All-Australian defender Luke McPharlin (calf) isn't due back until the final round of the home-and-away season.
