Dockers delist AFL ruckman Jon Griffin

The emergence of Sean Darcy and the re-signing of Aaron Sandilands means Fremantle don't have a need for Jon Griffin or Zac Clarke.

The AFL careers of ruckmen Jon Griffin and Zac Clarke appear over after the duo were delisted by Fremantle on Friday.

Clarke failed to play a single game this season because of an ongoing and serious knee injury.

The 27-year-old played a key role in the club's surge to the 2013 grand final, but the 101-game veteran has been plagued by injuries in the past three years.

Griffin has played second fiddle to premier ruckman Aaron Sandilands since joining Fremantle from Adelaide at the end of 2010.

The 31-year-old played 56 games across seven seasons at Fremantle - most of them coming when Sandilands was injured.

The emergence of Sean Darcy this season and the re-signing of Sandilands meant the Dockers no longer felt they needed Griffin as ruck back-up.

Defender Sam Collins has also been delisted, along with rookies Josh Deluca and Matthew Uebergang.

Veteran defenders Garrick Ibbotson and Zac Dawson have retired.

Utilities Tommy Sheridan and Brady Grey have signed one-year deals that tie them to the club for 2018.
