Dockers hungry for more AFL scalps

Fremantle are in the box seat to lock down a top-two berth after moving two wins clear on top of the AFL table.

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon says he's a long way from being satisfied despite his team's hot start to the AFL season.

After just eight rounds, Fremantle (8-0) are already four wins clear of defending premiers Hawthorn, and two wins in front of beaten grand finalists Sydney.

And with the hardest part of their draw already behind them, Fremantle appear destined to lock down a top-two berth.

Lyon says he's been pleased with his team's strong start to the season, but warned his players not to take their eye off the ball.

"Clearly it's a really positive start. We acknowledge that and we're pleased with it," Lyon told Perth radio station 6PR.

"But we're a long way from satisfied.

"We're a hungry playing and coaching group.

"We don't back off, we don't let up, and we keep each other accountable.

"If there's any signs, we'll give each other a clip and get ourselves moving."

Skipper Matthew Pavlich remains in some doubt for Saturday night's clash with the Crows in Adelaide.

Pavlich was subbed off with adductor soreness in last week's win over North Melbourne, but Lyon is optimistic the 33-year-old will play.

Utility Nick Suban copped a heavy head knock in that game, but he's also expected to be fit to tackle Adelaide.

The Crows will be without Sam Kerridge (ankle) and Rory Laird (concussion) after they were injured in last week's loss to GWS, but Brodie Smith is expected to return from how own bout of concussion.
