The Western Bulldogs won't look back at their painful history of preliminary final losses in the lead up to their Saturday night clash with GWS Giants.
Backman Dale Morris knows the streak all too well, having played in the Bulldogs' three consecutive preliminary final losses between 2008 and 2010.
But he says history won't be addressed, as the Bulldogs aim to make their first grand final since 1961.
"We're not going to look back at history and history isn't going to dictate our future," Morris said.
"We're in control of that."
The streak isn't the only piece of history the Bulldogs will have to overcome either, they like many teams lost in their only venture to Spotless, in round nine this year.
The 25-point loss was the Bulldogs' second in their past three clashes against the Giants.
Helping the Bulldogs is an overwhelming amount of support from both hardcore Doggies fans and the wider football public.
Morris said he was stopped by four people while shopping on Sunday.
"The first thing they said to me is 'We're not Bulldogs supporters but well done, we're so happy'," he said.
"The support has been overwhelming, it is pretty cool and you just need to soak it up and go with it."
Morris said he expects the team that beat the Hawks in Friday night will go in unchanged this Saturday.
