A new phrase coined by Prime Minister Tony Abbott to describe making a bad decision has taken off on Twitter.
Tony Abbott first used the phrase – "doing an Abbott" – during an interview with radio host Ray Hadley today.
It has since become the subject of ridicule on social media, with large amounts of people tweeting the hashtag #doinganabbott along with descriptions of poor choices.
The Prime Minister was criticsed earlier this week for declaring it was "back to work Tuesday" for the government amid increasing pressure over his leadership.
But senior Liberal ministers including Joe Hockey and Mathias Cormann have today come out in support of Mr Abbott, claiming reports of a backbench revolt are being overstated.
"The prime minister enjoys the unanimous support of the cabinet and I believe he enjoys the overwhelming support of the party room," Senator Cormann said on Wednesday.
