A witness compared the situation to an Austin Powers scene.

A red double-decker London bus blocked Cornhill street in central London while appearing to attempt a three-point turn this week.

In footage published by the Evening Standard, the bus blocks the entire road as a crowd of bemused onlookers take photos and attempt to shift it off a curb.

“I think the bus is well and truly stuck,” one onlooker says in the video.

Witness Adrian Brailsford told the Standard that the bus was trying to do a three-point turn before it mounted the curb and its wheels started spinning.

"I imagine the bus would be considerably more difficult to manoeuvre, so it's a good job Austin Powers wasn't behind the wheel," he told the paper.

"The passengers didn't seem to mind rolling up their sleeves and lending a helping hand."

He told the paper he watched for about 15 minutes before moving on.

Transport for London reportedly apologised to commuters, noting there were some diversions in the area.
