The man who regrets selling the federal government's intergenerational report will donate his profits from the campaign to needy government schools.

Prominent science broadcaster Karl Kruszelnicki wishes he'd pushed for the 40-year snapshot to include a greater focus on climate change.

Dr Karl has since taken to Twitter to say he's decided to donate any money received from the ads to "needy government schools".
