St George Illawarra and Canterbury go head to head at ANZ Stadium in tonight's big NRL clash, with both sides looking to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.

At Gosford, reigning premiers Manly came from behind to beat Wests Tigers 22-18.

In the opening game this evening, Gold Coast, who shocked North Queensland last week in Townsville, host Canberra at Skilled Park.

North Queensland fullback Matt Bowen raced from the base of a scrum to score the winning try in the 79th minute last night as the Cowboys beat the Broncos 28-26 in an NRL thriller in Brisbane last night.

Bowen, whose parents and partner were in the big crowd, said when he picked the ball up at the back of the scrum his only option was to run.

"I got a bit of a shock when I looked up and saw the gap open," said Bowen, who has scored some spectacular tries in his career.
