Driver dies after truck ignites in NSW

A truck driver has died after he crashed and his vehicle burst into flames on the Pacific Highway on the NSW mid-north coast.

A truck driver died after his vehicle burst into flames on the Pacific Highway, south of Port Macquarie.

Police say the driver was heading north on the highway near Kew when the truck ran off the road, crashed and ignited just after 3am (AEST) on Thursday.

Emergency services are at the scene and one lane of the highway is closed, but police say traffic is moving well.
