Drug dog nabs 38 at Vic music festival

A drug detecting dog has sniffed out 38 people carrying ecstasy, amphetamine, cannabis and other substances at a Melbourne music festival.

A music festival in Melbourne has ended on a sour note for 38 people after catching the attention of a drug detecting dog.

A range of banned substances including ecstasy, amphetamine and cannabis were sniffed out and seized from Soundwave festival goers over the weekend.

Police arrested 37 men and one woman for drug possession over Saturday and Sunday.

Twenty received a drug diversion notice, 16 a cannabis caution and two will face more serious drug charges by summons.
