Drug driving rates high in Gen Y: survey

An online survey by the Australian Road Safety Foundation says more than one in ten drivers aged 25-34 admitted to driving under the influence of drugs.

One in ten Generation Y drivers across Australia have driven under the influence of drugs in the past year.

An online survey by the Australian Road Safety Foundation, released on the tenth anniversary of national road safety campaign Fatality Free Friday, says 11 per cent of drivers aged 24-35 admitted to driving when affected by illicit drugs.

"It is alarming that so many seemingly experienced drivers do not realise the extent to which drugs can impair their ability to drive safely," CEO Russell White said.
