The Anaheim Ducks acquired US Olympic star Ryan Kesler in a multi-player trade with the Vancouver Canucks on Friday, the National Hockey League (NHL) team announced.

Besides the 29-year-old forward Kesler, the Ducks receive a 2015 third-round draft pick while the Canucks get centre Nick Bonino, Swiss defenceman Luca Sbisa and the No.24 and No.85 picks in this year's entry draft on Friday.

Kesler, who won a silver medal with the USA at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, is the biggest name in the deal. He had played all 10 of his previous seasons in Vancouver. He was also a key member of the USA's Sochi Olympic hockey team which finished in fourth place.

Kesler is known for his unselfish play which earned him an all-star selection and the Selke Trophy as the NHL's top defensive forward in 2011.

In 77 games last season, he scored 25 goals and 18 assists. His best season was 2010-11 when he bagged 41 goals.

Defenceman Sbisa, who was born in Italy but grew up in Switzerland, is entering his seventh season in the NHL. The former first-round draft pick spent five years in Anaheim.

He was selected in the first round by the Philadelphia Flyers where he played one season before being part of another draft-day trade which sent him to Anaheim. He had six points and 43 penalty minutes in 30 games last season for the Ducks.

The Swiss national team member missed the Sochi Olympics because of a hand injury he suffered in a fight.

American Bonino is coming off a career-best season after collecting 22 goals and 27 assists in 77 games. He has played all five of his NHL seasons for Anaheim.
