Duffie to miss another season for Storm

Melbourne Storm winger Matt Duffie has suffered another serious injury, ending his season before round one with knee surgery needed.

Luckless Melbourne Storm winger Matt Duffie's future in the NRL is in doubt after suffering another season-ending knee injury.

The 23-year-old has again ruptured his ACL and will undergo a reconstruction for the second time in two years.

He suffered the injury at training on Wednesday with scans confirming the worst.

His 2013 season ended after nine rounds when he required surgery on both his shoulder and knee.

It was his third shoulder reconstruction, having also gone under the knife in 2011 - the same year he played one Test for New Zealand - and then missed the 2012 grand final win due to another operation.

He played in the club's trial loss to Canberra earlier this month as well as last weekend's Auckland Nines.
