Dugan wins Brad Fittler medal

Josh Dugan has won the Brad Fittler medal for NSW's best player in this season's State of Origin series.

Josh Dugan has been crowned the Brad Fittler medallist for NSW's best player in this year's ill-fated State of Origin campaign.

Dugan was awarded the honour, voted on by his Blues teammates and coach Laurie Daley and his coaching staff, at a gala event at Sydney's Star City on Monday night.

Daley said it was a just reward for the St George Illawarra fullback's stellar series.

"Josh was outstanding over the course of the series and fully deserves this prestigious award," Daley said.

"He was our most consistent performer over the three games and I'm happy to see his efforts being recognised."

It was a forgettable series for the Blues, after they relinquished their interstate crown to Queensland courtesy of a 52-6 thrashing in the decider at Suncorp Stadium.

It was a tough loss to swallow for NSW, after they had ended Queensland's eight-year stranglehold over State of Origin in 2014.

Front-rower Aaron Woods earned the People's Choice Award, chosen by Blues supporters.

Robbie Farah, whose future remains under a cloud due to his contract dispute with Wests Tigers, was presented with the True Blue Award for his contribution to the Blues culture.

Farah missed Game III due to a hand injury, with Michael Ennis taking his place.
