Collingwood's injury dramas may have worsened with in-form defender Lynden Dunn to be sent for scans on his knee after hobbling off in the Magpie's 39-point win over Gold Coast.
Dunn was forced from the field at Metricon Stadium on Sunday night after landing awkwardly from a marking contest with Nick Holman late in the third quarter.
He went down clutching his left leg and played no further part in the match.
Coach Nathan Buckley believed the early diagnosis was a jarred knee.
"We think there's some damage in there. We don't know what it is," Buckley said.
"We'll scan in the next couple of days and see what he's got.
"He's been a really good player for us and underrated, in many ways. He was playing particularly well again tonight.
"It's concerning, you don't like players that don't finish a game off."
The Magpies already have a lengthy injury list as it is, with gun midfielder Adam Treloar's double hamstring blow last week seeing him join James Aish (knee), Jarryd Blair (hamstring), Alex Fasolo (ankle), Travis Varcoe (hamstring), Jamie Elliott (hamstring), Darcy Moore (hamstring) and Josh Smith (hamstring) on the sidelines.
Dunn's knee issue and the team's poor finish to the match were the only sour points for Collingwood on an otherwise comfortable night at the office.
The Magpies jumped into second spot on the AFL ladder by recording their sixth straight victory, but they wasted a big chance to boost their percentage by letting the Suns back into the contest late on.
Buckley said their lacklustre last 45 minutes would ensure nobody at the club would be getting carried away with where they sit.
Collingwood has a season-defining month ahead - their next four matches are all at the MCG, starting with Essendon next Sunday afternoon.
Then they face third-placed West Coast, eight-placed North Melbourne and premiers Richmond.
"We're still trying to prove ourselves to be a really good, solid team. We look forward to the challenges that are clearly going to come," Buckley said.
