Dustin Martin wins Tigers award in AFL

A week after making the All-Australian team for the first time, Richmond's Dustin Martin has also won his first club best and fairest award.

Star Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin has won his first club best and fairest award after a stellar AFL season.

Martin polled 62 votes to beat Alex Rance, last year's Jack Dyer medallist, by one vote.

Martin also made the All-Australian team last week for the first time and is a Brownlow Medal contender.

Tigers captain Trent Cotchin was third with 51 votes.

Rance, who also earned All-Australian selection, won Richmond's prestigious Fraser Bourke award for the fourth year in a row and the fifth time in his career.

The players vote on the Fraser Bourke award, which goes to the teammate who best upholds their trademark values.
