Dutch to host Mexico in friendly

Mexico will have a chance to avenge the defeat that sent them out of the World Cup when they take Netherlands on in a friendly in Amsterdam.

Mexico will play the Netherlands in Amsterdam on November 12 in a rematch of their World Cup second-round thriller as part of the central American side's autumn tour.

Spectators will be hoping for as thrilling a game as the one at the World Cup in Brazil where Mexico looked destined for the quarter-finals leading 1-0 going into the final 10 minutes.

However, two late goals by Wesley Sneijder and a controversial penalty, won by Arjen Robben, converted by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar dashed the Mexicans hopes of a first appearances in the last eight since 1986.

The Dutch went on to reach the semi-finals where they were beaten on penalties by Argentina.

The Mexicans will finish their mini-European tour with a friendly against Belarus on November 18 at Borisov.
