Easter holiday-goers and people using Medicare and Centrelink services are being warned to expect delays as unions ramp up industrial action.

From Monday, more than 15,000 Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support workers will launch a ten-day long protest over pay and work conditions, including co-ordinating break times so they are all off the job at the same time.

The move is expected to have a significant impact on already-stretched face-to-face and phone interactions with customers, the Community and Public Sector Union said in a statement on Monday.

Travellers at airports are also being warned to expect delays as Department of Agriculture biosecurity staff at airports, ports and regional centres across the country stop work at 10.30am for half an hour on Thursday.
