The death toll from air strikes on militias allied with the Syrian government in the east of the country has risen to 52, a monitor says.
"Among those killed were 16 Syrian nationals and the rest are either Iraqi or Lebanese fighters from Hezbollah," the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
Earlier on Monday, the watchdog said air strikes hit the town of al-Hari on the Syrian border with Iraq but that it could not immediately identify who carried out the strikes.
Syrian state-run news agency SANA, citing a military source, accused the US-led coalition fighting Islamic State in Syria of carrying out the strikes on a government position in al-Hari.
The coalition said its officials were aware of reports of a strike near al-Buo Kamal "that killed and wounded several Katai'b Hezbollah members" but denied carrying out any raids in eastern Syria.
"There have been no strikes by US or coalition forces in that area," the coalition said in a statement.
The pro-Iranian Lebanese Shi'ite movement Hezbollah has been fighting in Syria alongside Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces since 2011.
