An Australian nurse treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone has been airlifted to the United Kingdom.
The nurse, who cannot be named, was transferred following what Foreign Minister Julie Bishop described as a "low risk clinical incident" at the Australian-managed treatment centre.
In a statement, Ms Bishop said the nurse has not been diagnosed with Ebola.
"Her transferal to the UK for a 21-day observation period is a precautionary step," she said.
Ms Bishop said "strict infection prevention protocols" were in place at the treatment centre, currently catering for 38 beds.
To date, 18 patients have recovered and discharged from the centre.
