A young Victorian man has been left with a tremor and stutter after taking an ecstasy tablet and says he may be like that for the rest of his life.

A young Victorian man has been left with involuntary shaking and a stutter after taking an ecstasy tablet.

Jordy Hurdes, 20, shared his story on Facebook with a short video to warn people about the dangers of recreational drugs.

The video shows him struggling to speak and shaking uncontrollably and he says he may be like that for the rest of his life.

He was left fighting for his life in hospital after taking the party drug and says he's lucky to be alive.

"Doctors can't believe I'm still alive. So grateful I'm still here. It's a waiting game at the moment to see whether I'll have a permanent jerking like I have now," he says in the video.
