Prodrive Racing boss Tim Edwards is open to rebadging his V8 Supercars fleet should a new manufacturer come knocking.
But that doesn't mean the long-term Ford man would like it.
The team of reigning champion Mark Winterbottom is without factory backing since Ford's decision to walk away from the team prior to the 2015 season.
They've committed to racing the Falcon FG X to the end of next season, even though Gen2 rules will allow for new body styles and non-V8 engines.
Beyond that, Edwards will listen to offers.
"It's one of the great things about the car of the future," he told Inside Supercars.
"It is easily adaptable to new manufacturers that want to join the category."
Then comes the `but'.
"In saying that we are blue through and through. I started my career 35 years ago in a Ford dealership," he said.
"I'm blue through and through as are a lot of our staff, a lot of our sponsors and our fans."
Edwards said he had well and truly moved on from Ford's decision to walk away from supporting the series.
"We weren't really supported last year. We've grown accustomed to it and we've moved on," he said.
"The company has made their decisions and we've accepted that. We've forged on and to win the championship (last year) as a privateer team, it adds a little bit more kudos."
Five races in to this year's series, only Holdens have stood on top of the podium but Edwards said he was yet to be concerned for his team's chances of retaining the title.
"I know how competitive this category is," he said.
"You've only got to be a very small amount off and it can appear you are not firing on all cylinders.
"Getting two pole positions (in Tasmania) was great for Frosty. It shows we still have the car speed there ... we're still as competitive as we were last year."
