Parramatta players are standing by Corey Norman, saying they still want the five-eighth to play in Monday's NRL game against Newcastle despite being charged with drug offences.

The Eels are offering Norman the presumption of innocence amid allegations he had MDMA capsules seized from him at the Star Casino on Friday night.

"He's a real close mate of ours and he's a really important part of this team so it's our job as players to make sure we show plenty of love and support for him," club captain Tim Mannah said.
