A double murder and an accident have both been ruled out in the deaths of an elderly couple whose bodies were found in an Adelaide home.
Police went to the Boord Street property at Semaphore South on Monday morning amid concerns for the welfare of the 83-year-old man and 85-year-old woman.
Investigations are continuing but police have confirmed it isn't a double homicide and they have also ruled out a gas leak as being the cause of the deaths.
"Based on the circumstances and the information that we have at hand, we are satisfied that no other people were involved in the deaths," Chief Inspector Jerome Teakle said.
He declined to say if the couple had suffered any injuries but said they were thought to have been dead for less than 24 hours.
A report is being prepared for the state coroner.
