An elderly Gold Coast resident has been robbed during a terrifying home invasion by men armed with knives.
Three intruders, including two carrying knives, woke the 71-year-old at his Burleigh Waters home just before 2am on Friday.
The man complied with the intruders' demands to hand over cash.
The assailants fled through a front security screen they'd broken to get inside the house. Police have not said how much money they stole.
The man has been treated for minor abrasions and bruising suffered during the robbery, and police are appealing for public help to find the bandits.
