Election lead up 'negatively affecting' business

The ACCI says the protracted lead up to the federal election is having a negative impact on business confidence and investment.

An industry body representing Australian businesses has called on the federal government to set an election date.

 

Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced in January that a federal election would be held on September 14, but with the return of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, it's expected that a new date will be announced.



The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's chief executive Peter Anderson says the protracted lead-up to the vote is having a negative impact on business confidence and investment.
