Emergency situation declared in Brisbane

An emergency situation has been declared in Brisbane's north after a suspicious device was found inside a public building.

Police say bomb squad officers are part of a specialist team being sent to investigate the item found this afternoon at Windsor.

They're asking people in an area bound on the west by Lutwyche Road, east by Flynn Oval, north at Cartwright Street and south of Gallway Street to stay inside and for drivers to avoid the area.
