Lives and homes are in danger from an out-of-control bushfire burning in Bullsbrook north of Perth.

An emergency warning has been issued for people near the following roads - Asher, Della North, Gallagher, Old West, Pine, Bingham, Kirby, Gaston, Morley, West, Strachan, Seismic, Mallee, Higgins and Wandoo.

People in the area are in danger and need to act immediately to survive.

The alert level for the fire has been upgraded because of a wind change.

It is burning in a north westerly direction and predicted to shift to a north easterly direction.

Houses in the emergency warning area will be under threat by fire within the hour.

Two derelict homes and five sheds have already been destroyed in the blaze that has so far burnt out more than 6600 hectares.

A firefighter has also suffered a burn to the back of the neck and a police officer has been treated for smoke inhalation.

Emergency services are confident the bushfire was not deliberately lit.

Western Power has advised about 150 customers, primarily in the Bullsbrook, Pinjar and Neerabup areas, are without power. An evacuation centre have been set up at Gumblossom Community Centre on Tapping Way, Quinns Rock.
