England prop David Wilson requires surgery on a neck injury which will rule him out of the rest of the Six Nations championship, coach Stuart Lancaster has announced.

The 29-year-old tighthead will miss England's remaining four fixtures but will return in time for England's World Cup training camp.

"David has seen the specialist and will be out for the Six Nations," Lancaster said on Thursday.

"He's booked in for an operation tomorrow (Friday) that will relieve his nerve impingement. He'll be out for 10-12 weeks."

Earlier, Lancaster named an unchanged team for Saturday's clash against Italy at Twickenham.

Lancaster has kept faith with the same starting XV and bench that beat Wales 21-16 in Cardiff in the Championship opener last Friday.
