Canterbury Tactix have secured the services of English international Jade Clarke for next year's trans-Tasman netball league.
The versatile midcourter is one of two imports allocated to the Tactix as they struggle to rebuild after the devastating earthquake of 2011.
The southerners, who finished ninth from 10 this season, have lost Clarke's England teammate Jo Harten, who has signed with the Magic after two years in Christchurch.
But they have retained experienced captain Anna Thompson, and the Silver Ferns midcourter will be joined by former Southern Steel midcourter Hayley Saunders.
Saunders, who filled in for the injury-hit Northern Mystics this year, will bolster the Tactix midcourt stocks, where her defensive strength should prove useful.
Also signing on for another ANZ Championship season with the Tactix is former Silver Fern Julianna Naoupu.
The 23-year-old shooter has six years' experience of trans-Tasman league netball, although she struggled to recover from knee surgery for much of last season.
Naoupu links with current New Zealand under-21 reps Sophia Fenwick and Zoe Walker.
Walker, a 19-year-old defender, was named in the national accelerant squad after an outstanding debut season for the Tactix this year while Fenwick, 20, finished the season strongly at goal attack.
