ERA increases uranium production

ERA increased uranium production at its Northern Territory operations in the December quarter of 2014.

Energy Resources of Australia increased production during the September quarter by 19 per cent to 599 tonnes of uranium oxide.

However the Rio Tinto-owned uranium miner posted a 61 per cent fall in production for the full 2014 year to 1,165 tonnes.

ERA also said a pre-feasibility study on building a new underground mine in the Northern Territory, the Ranger 3 Deeps mine, was being finalised and would be considered by the board in the first quarter of 2015.
