European stock edge higher at open

Frankfurt's DAX 30 edged up 0.02 per cent to 9,722.63 points and in Paris the CAC 40 gained 0.04 per cent to stand at 4,480.22 at the open.

Europe's main stock markets nudged upward at the open, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gaining 0.05 per cent to 6,824.15 points.
