European stock markets steady at open

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index has added just 0.3 per cent to 6,857.97 points at the start of Monday trading.

Europe's main stock markets have steadied at the start of Monday trading, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index adding just 0.3 per cent to 6,857.97 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 slid 0.23 per cent to 9,607.32 and the Paris CAC 40 dipped 0.20 per cent to 4,447.42 points, compared with Friday's closing levels.
