European stocks slip at open

Europe's main stock markets have slipped at the open after closing in the red on Friday.

Europe's main stock markets have weakened at the open, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index losing 0.11 per cent to 6770.20 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 fell 0.27 per cent to 9885.97 points on Monday and in Paris the CAC 40 shed 0.39 per cent to 4525.68 compared with Friday's closing level.

All three markets closed in the red on Friday, with airlines hit hard by higher oil prices caused by spreading unrest in Iraq.
