European stocks stable at open

European markets have opened mostly steady, with the German and French exchanges rising slightly.

Europe's main stock markets steadied at the start of trading on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index unchanged at 6,659.19 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 firmed 0.19 percent to 9,615.52 points and in Paris the CAC 40 added 0.16 percent to 4,319.60 compared with Thursday's closing values.
