European stocks steady at open

Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.01 per cent to 9,660.55 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 added 0.06 per cent to 4,399.67.

Europe's main stock markets held steady at the start of trading, with London's FTSE 100 index down 0.05 per cent at 6,795.71 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.01 per cent to 9,660.55 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 added 0.06 per cent to 4,399.67 compared with Wednesday's closing level.
