Guy Sebastian has been given a glimpse of Eurovision glory at the first rehearsal in Vienna.

All eyes were on the Aussie performer as the huge screen behind him displayed a dramatic cityscape.

Among his fans were British duo Elector Velvet. The UK entrants Bianca Nicholas and Alex Larke say despite the long running rivalry Guy Sebastian's song is their favourite.

"I think he's our biggest competition. I think he's fantastic." said Ms Nicholas.

"I don't want to say he's a nice guy, because his name's 'Guy', but he is a nice guy!" said Mr Larke.

"I used some of Guy's make up the other day, on Sunday, I don't know if I'm allow to say that Guy, but you did lend me some."

Sebastian is the first to take part in rehearsals as a fully fledged Australian contestant.

They say they're impressed by the musicians ability.

"He wrote the song within a few days of it being announced and it's such a good song." said Ms Nicholas.

Elector Velvet hope to redeem the 'duo act' from the UK after its 2003 entry 'Cry Cry Baby' by Jemini.
"There are a lot of ballads this year, and ours is a very up beat and catchy song." said Ms Nicholas.

"I think it's absolutely the right song, for the right year." said Mr Larke.

They say they can't wait for the song contest to begin.
