Gold Coast's efforts to add more AFL experience to their playing stocks have continued with the Suns signing discarded Geelong forward Jordan Murdoch.
The 26-year-old speedster played 108 games in seven seasons for the Cats after he was selected 48th overall at the 2011 draft, but was delisted along with Daniel Menzel last month.
Murdoch, who also received some interest from St Kilda, has signed a three-year deal with the Queensland club.
"Jordan provides us with elite speed and foot skills, to add balance to our midfield," list manager Craig Cameron said.
"He is a man of great character, has experience in a strong program at Geelong and will help to drive the professional standards here at the club."
The move continues a busy off-season for Gold Coast, who lost co-captains Steven May and Tom Lynch plus Aaron Hall and Kade Kolodjashnij during the trade and free agency periods.
Michael Barlow, Jesse Lonergan and Jarryd Lyons were delisted, while Matt Rosa retired, leaving the struggling club dangerously low on on-field experience and leadership.
The Suns have gone some way to filling that void, trading for Murdoch's former Cats teammate George Horlin-Smith, Richmond duo Corey Ellis and Anthony Miles and Port Adelaide defender Jack Hombsch.
They also added mature-age state league players Josh Corbett, Chris Burgess and Sam Collins via priority selections granted by the AFL to help them as they attempt to improve on last season's 17th-placed finish.
