Ex-NRL star Duffie's All Blacks tour call

Former NRL star Matt Duffie is among four uncapped players named in the All Blacks squad for their Europe tour.

Former Melbourne NRL winger Matt Duffie has been called up for the All Blacks' northern hemisphere tour as coach Steve Hansen maintains a focus on building depth.

Duffie has been rewarded for a strong Super Rugby season with the Blues, named as one of four uncapped players along with Crusaders centre Jack Goodhue plus prop Tim Perry and hooker Asafo Aumua, who have both excelled in the national provincial championship.

Two players recalled after their non-involvement in New Zealand's clean sweep of the Rugby Championship are outside back Seta Tamanivalu and prop Jeffery Toomaga-Allen.

World class lock Brodie Retallick hasn't been included for compassionate reasons following a recent family tragedy.

The only player confirmed as unavailable for the first match against the Barbarians at Twickenham on November 4 is injured winger Rieko Ioane (finger).

The remaining matches are against France (Paris, Nov 11), a French selection (Lyon, Nov 14), Scotland (Edinburgh, Nov 18) and Wales (Cardiff, Nov 25).
