The National Gallery of Victoria’s 'Melbourne Now' exhibition features the works of more than 300 artists including numerous contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

The exhibition explores visual art, music dance, architecture, jewellery and design.

Curator of Indigenous works Judith Ryan said it was a powerful expression of our contemporary artists as they blended the modern with traditional to tell stories about our history and relationship to country.

Koori artists featured include Steaphan Paton, Ray Young, Brian Martin, Stephan Rhall and countrymen from outside Victoria who are now residents like Destiny Deacon, Brook Andrew, Reko Rennie, Yohannie Scarce, Lorraine Connelly Northy and Sean Miller.

Lachi Lachi artist Trevor Turbo Brown's self portrait ‘Last Man Standing’ is in the exhibition alongside a number of his works.

Melbourne Now is on display at the National Gallery of Victoria's Ian Potter gallery until March 23.
