After months of hype and closed door workouts, Australian teenager Dante Exum will don a Utah Jazz singlet in Las Vegas this weekend and embark on his NBA career.

The fifth pick in last month's NBA Draft, Exum, who turns 19 on Sunday, will be one of the stars fans are waiting to see in the NBA's Summer League tournament.

Jazz coach Quin Snyder has been impressed with point guard Exum since he arrived at the club.

"He's fast," Snyder told the Salt Lake Tribune.

"More than anything, he looks like he knows how to play."

The 10-day Summer League tournament allows NBA teams to play their recent draftees, reserves and free agents attempting to win a place on their roster for the 2014-15 season.

While Exum is assured a contract as a high draft pick, countryman Brock Motum will also play on the Jazz squad in Las Vegas in the hope of securing a permanent place on the roster.

Another Australian power forward, Cameron Bairstow, will suit up for the Chicago Bulls in Vegas after they selected him in the second round of last month's draft.

The University of New Mexico star isn't guaranteed a contract and will be doing all he can to impress.

The Australian NBL's top scorer Chris Goulding will play for the Dallas Mavericks while 217cm centre Jordan Vandenberg will suit up for the New York Knicks' Summer League squad.

Victorian point guard Matthew Dellavedova knows how important Summer League is.

He was snubbed at last year's draft but managed to get a spot on the Cleveland Cavaliers' Summer League roster and ,through grit and determination, clawed his way on to the Cavs for the regular season.

Dellavedova will once again play in Vegas with the Cavs.
