F1 teams remove interconnected suspension

Ahead of the German Grand Prix, all Formula One teams have removed the front and rear interconnected suspension from their cars.

All Formula One teams have removed the front and rear interconnected suspension from their cars before the German Grand Prix after a statement from governing body FIA that the system could be illegal.

FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer said: "I can confirm that no car is fitted with a front to rear linked suspension system of any sort."

The systems, used to generate more underbody downforce for additional control, were implemented to varying degrees by teams.

FIA technical delegate Charlie Whiting wrote to the teams after the British GP two weeks ago, saying "the legality of all such systems could be called into question".

Efforts to reach unanimous agreement on the systems' continued use failed, and the teams decided not to run the risk of docked points.
